TGS 2005: Sonic X360 Gets Named

...Or doesn't get named, depending on how you want to look at it.

While addressing the crowd from onstage at the 2005 Tokyo Game Show, SEGA's master designer Yuji Naka revealed an interesting tidbit of info for onlookers. Apparently, the next generation version of Sonic the Hedgehog will be named, you guessed it, Sonic the Hedgehog when it comes to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in the next life cycle.

The announcement came after an official real-time presentation of Sonic held in front of the interested crowd by the game's producer. Naka went on to say that the simple name is in honor of the 15th anniversary of the original SEGA Genesis game.

Stay tuned for impressions of the real-time demo fairly soon.
