NBA 2K6 Gets the Shaq

Shaquille O'Neal will grace the cover of this year's b-ball entry.

2K Games announced today that none other than Shaquille O'Neal will grace the cover (and serve as spokesperson) of NBA 2K6. The Miami Heat center contributed to the game's design, offering input on this year's entry in the long-running basketball franchise.

"Shaquille O'Neal is one of the most dominant, skilled and exciting players in the NBA," said Erik Whiteford at 2K Sports. "His name is synonymous with basketball and winning. His great passion for the game and drive for excellence has made him a force on the court and a leader on every team he is a part of, including 2K Sports. We're thrilled to be working with Shaq on NBA 2K6."

O'Neal contributed to NBA 2K6's new post play features, including drop steps, head fakes, skyhooks, and the fade away shot. The game also adds post specific moves including steals from post defenders and weak side blocks.

NBA 2K6 is scheduled to hit stores this fall for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. Stay tuned for even more on the title as news comes in.
