NBA Live Set For Japan

Xbox 360 version to accompany PS2 version.

While we're sure the Japanese release of an American sports game is of little interest to most IGN readers, the latest game to undergo the long trip across the Pacific is somewhat special. Electronic Arts has announced that NBA Live 06 will hit the Japanese PS2 in November. In addition to the PS2 version, the company has also announced a Japanese release for the Xbox 360 version.

EA brings many of its yearly sports games, including Madden and the Live series, to Japan. However, these releases are kept to the PS2, leaving GameCube and Xbox fans out in the cold (not that we've heard any voices of dissent, of course). News of an Xbox 360 release comes as somewhat of a surprise.

Unlike the PS2 version, the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 06 is currently without a final release date.

With NBA Live, Fifa and Need for Speed, EA's Japanese support for Xbox 360 now stands at three titles. In addition to these Western titles, the copmany has hinted at plans for original Japanese content for the system.
