Rockstar Issues Anti-Hot Coffee Patch

The company pours some cooling cream into San Andreas.

In an attempt to put a lid on the steaming "hot coffee" controversy surrounding hidden sexual content in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Rockstar Games today released its official anti-hot coffee patch for the PC version of the game.

Those who wish to ensure their copies of San Andreas are impervious to the third-party modification may download a region-appropriate patch from Nomorehotcoffee.com.

The patch is part of Rockstar's strategy to address the hot coffee content, the revelation of which was enough for the ESRB to change San Andreas' rating from M, for "Mature," to AO, or "Adults Only." Rockstar will also produce new, hot coffee-resistant versions of San Andreas for Xbox and PlayStation 2 -- which should receive the original M rating. Most retailers have pulled current versions of the game rather than sell them under an AO rating.
