Model Josie Maran Feels Need for Speed

Electronic Arts announced today that model and actress Josie Maran will appear in Need for Speed Most Wanted. Maran, who played supporting roles in Van Helsing and The Aviator, and is currently the Maybelline cover girl, will appear as street racer Mia in the game.

To put Maran in Most Wanted, EA is using a new process which uses high-definition footage of actors to create "synthetic-looking" in-game characters. The characters are then "seamlessly" integrated to the game's 3D environments.

"Videogames are much more personal than films since it's an interactive experience for the audience; it's like being invited into their home," said Maran. "For Need for Speed Most Wanted, we performed in front of a green screen, much like a Hollywood set, so all the gamers will see will be real-life video of the actors merged into environments from the game; it's simply amazing."

Need for Speed Most Wanted is currently scheduled to ship across platforms this November.
