Battlefield 2 Officially Expands

Today Electronic Arts officially announced Battlefield 2: Special Forces, the hot-on-heels expansion to DICE's popular combat sequel.

The expansion, scheduled to ship this fall, introduces covert operations to the multiplayer action. The title will offer six new "special forces" soldiers to play as: Navy SEALs, British SAS, Russian Spetznas, MEC Special Forces, Rebel groups, and insurgents. Along with the new forces comes specialized weaponry and gadgets, ten new vehicles, and persistent character growth. (We've got a hot Q&A with more details.)
