Chibi Robo To Use Microphone

Command the puny robot using your voice.

According to the Japanese games publication Nindori (Nintendo Dream), the upcoming puzzle game Chibi Robo will use the Nintendo microphone. Exactly how the game will utilize the microphone remains unclear, but those looking to purchase the game won't need to wait much longer since it ships tomorrow -- at least in Japan.

The Nintendo microphone first shipped with Mario Party 6, a multiplayer party game requiring players to command onscreen characters with voice commands.

Chibi Robo follows the exploits of a miniscule robot tasked with performing everyday household duties. How he accomplishes these otherwise mundane tasks forms the backbone of the game. Players will face a wide range of puzzles and event sequences in the game, as well as a cast of oddball characters.

Currently, Chibi Robo remains a Japan-only title, with no announced plans for a North American or European release. However, Nintendo of America did spotlight the game at its E3 2005 booth and also featured it in its official magazine, both of which are good signs that the subsidiary is interested in bringing it to the States.

Stay tuned for more information.
