John Terry for Pro Evolution Soccer

The Chelsea defender signs for Konami's latest.

Konami of Europe announced Monday that 2005 PFA Player of the Year John Terry has signed to be one of the faces of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (which comes to us in the States as World Soccer Winning Eleven 9 International).

"I've been a massive fan of Pro Evolution Soccer for years now and am really pleased to be able to work with the talented people behind such a fantastic game," John Terry said of the agreement. "It's the game of choice for lots of players as it is so true to the real thing. I'm looking forward to getting involved with the launch of this fifth and best version in the coming months -- and getting to play advance versions on the way!"

This season Terry led his Chelsea side to Premiership glory and to a Champions League semi-final. He's also a strong part of England's international team.

Due out, in Europe at least, in the last part of 2005, Winning Eleven 9 continues to refine the series' ball handling, intuitive control, and visuals. For a taste, we've included a first batch of screens. We'll be back with more, including North American details, as soon as news comes in.
