Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Comparative Review

How do the Xbox and PC versions compare? We cound the ways in video form.

Six months to the day of the PlayStation 2's release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Rockstar has brought its thug life opus to both the Xbox and PC. Now, gamers that don't own a PS2 have the chance to play one of the best games of this generation on a system that isn't made by Sony.

A little different from a head-to-head and not quite a video review, this comparative conversation between IGN PC's Dan Adams and IGN Xbox's Douglass C. Perry about the new ports of San Andreas are likely invaluable for fans on the fence about which version to get.

How do the games fare on these systems? Do they look better or worse? How are the load times? Faster and shorter? How does the game play using the Xbox controller and the PC's mouse and keyboard? What about the new features? How do they factor in? What about the secrets?

We answer all these questions in today's feature as we discuss the differences while you watch us play both games. Do PS2 owners need to take notice of these two new versions, or should they stick with what they got?

The answer can be found by watching the video.

Also, make sure to check out the Insider Masterbit Theater of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas where we have high-res videos of both the PS2 and Xbox versions of GTA: SA side-by-side. It's a must-see.
