Vietcong Heads Back to the Jungle

2K Games today announced Vietcong 2, the sequel to 2003's first-person military shooter. Developed once again by Pterodon Software, Vietcong 2 will build on the basics of the original to offer a new experience in the jungles of Vietnam -- including a new single-player campaign, new multiplayer modes, and a new 3D engine.

"The first Vietcong was a big success for us," said Christoph Hartmann at 2K Games. "Almost two years after its initial release, there are still hundreds of servers and thousands of gamers playing Vietcong all day, every day. With Vietcong 2 we intend to give hardcore fans and newcomers alike an even bigger and better experience."

Vietcong 2 is scheduled for release in the last part of this year. We'll be back with more on the title as details come in.
