Dead to Rights II Ships

Acclaimed action franchise dives into stores.

Leading video games developer and publisher Namco Hometek Inc. announced today that "Dead to Rights(R) II" has shipped to retail outlets throughout North America for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox(R) video game system. Featuring relentless action and a hard-hitting crime storyline, "Dead to Rights II" is rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB.

"Dead to Rights II" details the events before the first installment of the acclaimed action series, with beat cop Jack Slate and his K-9 cohort Shadow combing the squalid alleys of Grant City for clues about the abduction of an important city official. Before long, all hell breaks loose, and Jack and Shadow must take on a powerful mob in the fight of their lives to break the city's spiral of betrayal and corruption. Utilizing an all-new spherical slow motion combat system and more than 25 original bone crushing disarms, "Dead to Rights II" gives Jack and Shadow nearly limitless variety in dispatching lowlife gang members. Players can even unleash Shadow, dispensing canine fury while watching Jack's back. Jack is trouble for criminals up close, attacking with his fists, blades and bats, but he's a nightmare from afar, using pistols, assault rifles and heavy artillery to even the score in his battle to clean up the streets.

"The gritty cop storyline and nonstop action of 'Dead to Rights II' is sure to give any adrenaline junkie their fix," said Pierre Roux, Senior Producer at Namco Hometek Inc. "We've expanded upon the foundations of the action genre by giving players even more control of Jack's K-9 partner, Shadow, and unprecedented freedom in ranged and close-combat mayhem, and the results are nothing short of explosive."
