In Mythic Entertainment's popular Dark Age of Camelot, the death of King Arthur has occasioned a tripartite struggle for supremacy. Albion is the region in which the legendary city still stands. It is home to four human strains as well as the stalwart Half-Ogres and the mysterious, pale Inconnu. Based on Irish Celtic themes, verdant Hibernia lies to the west. Many of the Lurikeen, Elves, Shar and others who dwell there lean toward the magical arts, while Midgard lies to the north, a Norse-themed expanse that often produces hardy warriors among the Dwarves, Kobolds, Trolls, Valkyn and more residing there.
The game has evolved significantly since launch, with three commercial expansions each offering different content. Shrouded Isles implemented new continents, races and classes. Next, Trials of Atlantis took players into the depths to explore another storied land while also adding one race per realm plus a Master Levels advancement system. Last year, Catacombs took the action below the ground and introduced features such as further classes and instanced adventure areas. Both free of charge to subscribers, Foundations and New Frontiers focused on housing and revamping the Realm vs. Realm play respectively. Improving accessibility for new players is a current objective.
Includes an exclusive video (at time of posting)
Featuring the professional voice talent of actor Earl Boen, the actor who played the psychiatrist in the Terminator movies, the new Dark Age of Camelot movie introduces players to the game's three Realms in conflict - Albion, Hibernia and Midgard. New players can witness Mythic's unique version of player vs. player combat, Realm vs. Realm (RvR), in which players from the three Realms meet in some of the largest online battles of all time. The Realm frontiers are open, and Dark Age of Camelot welcomes any players who are prepared for the challenge!
"The audience for online games is growing quickly and we're seeing many new players drawn to the compelling action that only a massive multiplayer game can deliver," explained Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer for Dark Age of Camelot. "We recognized that we needed to create a clear introduction for new players, so we created this video."
In addition to the movie, Mythic has made Dark Age of Camelot easier for beginners by adding a tutorial for new users to the game. With step by step instructions and voiceover, new players will complete the tutorial with an understanding of how to play the game and delve into all that Dark Age of Camelot has to offer. An all new free 14-day trial can be downloaded from the official site.
