LEGO Star Wars: A Rogue's Gallery, Part 3

With Giant Interactive's LEGO Star Wars just a few weeks away, it's as good a time as any to reveal some of the game's more prominent playable characters. And while we already know about guys like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jar Jar Binks, we wanted to explore some of the other available warriors that aren't such obvious choices. What about the droids, the aliens, and all the bizarre little creatures in-between?

Listed below are three of more than 50 playable characters that can be used for almost every possible stage in LEGO Star Wars. Though they won't be available for play until you've encountered them in the normal story mode, once they've been unlocked they'll stay in your inventory forever. It's one of our favorite little features in the entire game, and one that's provided us with plenty of reasons to go back and play through several additional times.

Anakin Skywalker Character Type: Jedi Weapon: Lightsaber Abilities: Force Powers Appears: Episode III Scene 2; Episode III Scene 6

Bio: The young podracing champion has journeyed far in the company of his master Obi-Wan Kenobi since they first met on Tatooine. Now, his Jedi skills are finely tuned. Anakin's lightsaber attacks can cut a swathe through Separatist forces, and his mastery of the Force can move and reshape objects. But Anakin's journey is not yet over…

Clone Trooper Character Type: Clone Weapon: Blaster Abilities: Ascension gun Appears: Episode III Scene 4; Episode III Scene 5

Bio: Built in the image of Jango Fett, these armored foot soldiers protect the Republic against the Separatist threat. Armed with powerful blasters, their ability to pick off enemies at a distance will come in very handy… so long as they obey your commands.

Count Dooku Character Type: Sith Lord Weapon: Lightsaber Abilities: Dark Force Powers Appears: Episode II Scene 5 "Count Dooku"; Episode III Scene II

Bio: Once a noble Jedi, now seduced to the Dark Side, Count Dooku leads the Separatist forces in their war with the Galactic Republic. You will encounter him twice in LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, and you'll have to learn how to deal with his lightsaber attacks, his Force Lightning, and his ability to use the Force to lift characters and hold them suspended in the air.
