GDC 2005: Cold Fear Out in the Open

Darkworks CEO to give special game-related presentation.

French development studio Darkworks SA has announced that it will be showcasing a behind-the-scenes "Making Of" presentation of its upcoming action/horror title Cold Fear later today at the 2005 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Hosted at the Renderware booth at 4pm, the presentation will offer limited seating and will be hosted by Darkworks CEO Antoine Villette.

"Darkworks' latest title Cold Fear is a visually spectacular, action horror game," claimed Renderware publisher Criterion Software. "It blends some of what you'd expect from the genre with a unique camera system and a world that pitches and rolls with the waves. The result is a game which is set to change the genre."

Published by Ubisoft and slated for American store shelves later this month, Cold Fear takes place aboard a sinister Russian whaling ship that's been stranded in the middle of the Bering Sea thanks to a powerful and mysterious oceanic storm. In it, players assume the role of U.S. Coast Guard officer Tom Hansen as he's sent aboard the ship on a rescue mission. Of course, being a horror game, things don't quite work out as originally planned...

We'll be back with more on Cold Fear later this afternoon.
