Nintendogs Comes in Three

Nintendo will market its dog simulator similar to its Pokemon franchise this April.

Nintendo has revealed that when it releases its dog simulator Nintendogs for the Nintendo DS this April, the game will come in three unique packages, each with its own specific content.

Each version of Nintendogs will include five specific breeds of dogs to play with, train, and care for on the Nintendo DS' dual-screen setup.

Nintendogs: Dachshund will feature the Miniature Schnauzer, Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Dachshund, German Shepherd, and Pug. Nintendogs: Chihuahua will contain the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Labrador Retriever, and Beagle. Nintendogs: Shiba will host the Shetland Sheepdog, Miniature Pinscher, Shiba, Welsh Corgi Puppy, and the Toy Poodle.

Though the company hasn't revealed details on wireless connectivity, we assume that to collect all the dogs, you most likely will have to trade between versions, a game mechanic popularized by Nintendo's Pokemon franchise.

All three versions of Nintendogs will be available April 21st for 4800 yen each. The game, currently known as Puppy Times in the US, has no release date in North America.
