The Sims 2 Hits Big

Surprise! The sequel to the biggest PC title ever is doing very well.

Sit down for this one. The Sims 2 is popular. Very much so. Electronic Arts today announced that the sequel to the best-selling PC game of all time has already broken a record of its own: The Sims 2 sold more than one million copies worldwide in its first week, making it the biggest PC launch in EA's 22-year history.

Over at GameStats The Sims 2 is currently ranking Number 8 in most popular titles across platforms, with a GPM of 98.7. In other words: it's hot.

This of course is not really a surprise, as The Sims 2 offers all the charm and addictiveness of the original title, but, delightfully, bigger and better. Given the inevitable expansion packs in the works, we expect The Sims 2 to continue as a phenomenon for quite a while to come. Stay tuned.
