Call of Duty: United Offensive is Gold

The official expansion is that much closer to being in your hands.

Activision announced today that Call of Duty: United Offensive, the official expansion to last year's much-acclaimed WWII shooter, has gone gold. In other words, development on the game -- handled this time by Gray Matter Studios -- is now officially complete, and the title will head to production to hit its September 14 street date.

United Offensive adds 13 new single-player missions, 11 new multiplayer maps and three new multiplayer modes, along with a roster of new weapons, abilities, and special effects. It's good stuff.

Be sure to check out all our coverage of the expansion so far. And if this one's got you hot and bothered, go ahead and add it to your wishlist.
