Combat Elite Release Halted

BattleBorne Entertainment, developer of Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers has been granted an injunction against publisher Acclaim by the Supreme Court of the State of New York. The injunction prevents Acclaim from shipping Combat Elite in either its PlayStation 2 or Xbox versions.

The injunction is granted in response to BattleBorne's claim that Acclaim has not made payments owed the developer as part of the title's development contract. Acclaim also allegedly threatened to release the title before completing payments to BattleBorne.

It is unclear where Combat Elite now stands, as the third-person action game was originally expected to ship this week. We'll bring you updates on the situation as it progresses.
