Chessmaster 10th Edition Announced

Ubisoft announced today that Chessmaster 10th Edition will be released August 10, 2004. The Chessmaster series is undoubtedly the most popular brand of chess on the market, and this new iteration promises dramatic changes in the formula.

The latest chapter in the Chessmaster series boasts a new interface and a new online module providing a ranking system, tournament creator, teaching tools and chat.

"Chessmaster 10th Edition is the 'must-have' chess program for the whole family," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing, Ubisoft.

"Beginners will learn at a comfortable pace, and veterans of the game can take it to the Grand Master level. Studies have shown that chess improves critical thinking, concentration and creativity, and Chessmaster 10th Edition is a great way to learn and master the game of chess."

What's more, the game also brings "Chessmaster Academy," a feature that gives you personalized instruction from some of the world's biggest names in Chess, like International Master Josh Waitzkin and Grand Master Larry Christiansen.
