Gearbox Announces HaloCE
It's a big patch, it's editing tools, it's what we've wanted.
GameSpy today has revealed Gearbox Software's upcoming HaloCE, a significant upgrade to Halo: Combat Evolved on the PC, as well as a suite of editing tools.
Among other improvements, the HaloCE update is said to improve performance on pixel-shader hardware by up to 60%, as well as minimize network lag "warping." CE also includes the Halo Editing Kit (HEK) for creating custom Halo-driven content.
It looks like HaloCE will be made available as a free 250 MB download to current Halo owners "very, very soon." For the full story, check out
