I of the Dragon Preview at IGN PC

One of IGN's features from last night, this I of the Dragon preview covers the variety to the avatar types, the magic system and control of the titular beast, as well as other aspects. Here's the text pertinent to the first of those:

Strange and nefarious beasts roam the lands, and no one knows where they came from, although they were spoken of in prophecy. Also spoken of was the dragon that would come to defend them and root out the source of the evil. At the beginning, you can choose from three dragon types, although only the combat-oriented one was available in this build. The other two are a mage dragon and a hybrid. Although these are the same few categories we're used to in RPGs, they are dragons, after all! Can't beat flying around as a monster of flamey doom.

Due to ship in March through publisher Strategy First, I of the Dragon will feature 12 distinct areas and around 40 different creature types, and will be playable from the first- and third-person perspectives. - Annihilator
