Max Payne 2 Ships

The Fall of Max Payne now available for PlayStation 2.

Completing its latest release cycle, Take-Two Interactive announced today that it has shipped the action-oriented sequel to its award-winning series Max Payne. Already released for Xbox and PC, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne comes to the PlayStation 2 with its story of betrayal and intrigue as Max Payne and his woman Mona Sax find themselves caught up in an ever-changing tale of deception and mystery. Cue the subtle music!

While the PlayStation 2 version doesn't boast any system-exclusive content, it does have all the bells and whistles of its cross-platform counterparts. Enhanced A.I. routines, new weapons, more detailed visuals, and the heralded Havok physics engine are but a few of the many bullet points that have been garnering so much attention lately. It's violent premise and realistic production values aren't too bad either.

IGNPS2 editor-in-chief Douglass C. Perry will be back with an analysis of the PlayStation 2 version later this week. Stay tuned.
