It wasn't just Bullet Time that launched the first Max Payne into action stardom. Just as memorable was the style of play, the way in which the game was told, the presentation. Max Payne delivered its game in an impressive graphic novel style, giving players a feeling of structure with chapters, episodes and epilogues. The narration, the great dialogue, super selection of weapons, and the creepy places Payne visits burned deep into our memory cells the first and second times through.
Max Payne 2: The Rise and Fall of Max Payne, the sequel that first arrived on PC just a few weeks ago, is coming to PS2 and Xbox on December 4, and we've got a cool new feature highlighting some of the killer new weapons in it.
In Max Payne 2, there is a healthy new arsenal of weapons for gamers to switch between while flying through the air. There are 16 weapons total -- 14 guns and 2 throwable explosive items. Weapons can be found in many places, such as on dead enemies, in cabinets, from friendly non-player characters, and in several other areas.
Just as in the first game, which gave us unusual television shows and hilarious radio programs, in Max Payne 2 rewards players for exploring the levels and paying close attention to the surroundings. Each varies in effectiveness depending on the combat situation. If you are low on ammo any of the guns may be used as melee weapons in close combat. Below is sneak peak at three weapons that Max will get his hands on in The Fall of Max Payne.
Check out all three PS2 images below (as well as additional exclusive ones below in the media section).
M4 Carbine
Dual Ingrams
Dragunov
