Age of Mythology--The Boardgame

The Microsoft Game Studio unveiled today that it has created a boardgame from Ensemble Studios' Age of Mythology RTS, courtesy of Eagle Games. AoM: The Boardgame features no less than 300 miniatures, 38 sculptures, and 150 wooden resource cubes for your boardgaming pleasure.

Greece, Egypt and the Norse are all depicted here, and you'll encounter the usual elements: Exploration, claim-staking, resource gathering, structure building, military recruitment, and good old-fashioned bloodshed!

It isn't clear as yet how the real-time nature of the PC game would translate to card and dice-based tabletop excitement, but maybe we'll get a promo box soon to get a handle on the mystery.
