EA to Publish FF X-2 in Europe

EA negotiates European rights to Square-Enix's first sequel in the FF series.

Electronic Arts yesterday unveiled its plans to publish Square Enix's first true sequel in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy X-2 in Europe. Final Fantasy X already has sold more than 2 million units in Japan and upwards of a million in the US.

"Square Enix has a long-standing reputation for developing incredibly creative properties of the highest quality," said Frank Sagnier, VP of EA Partners Europe. "FFX-2 is a breakthrough in the Final Fantasy series in terms of gameplay as it appeals to its core fans whilst its enhanced accessibility will attract an even broader consumer base."

"We are absolutely thrilled to offer Final Fantasy X-2 to the PAL market. We at Square Enix Europe will be working hard with Electronic Arts to ensure that this latest addition to the Final Fantasy series is a big hit with both our existing fans and newcomers alike," added Tom Yoshikai, deputy managing director of Square Enix Europe.

We'll have more on Final Fantasy X-2 in the near future.
