Frozen Throne Sells Like Crazy

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos did very well at the box office. So it was pretty easy to assume that the expansion pack, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, would do just, or nearly as well as the parent title. Given the quality of the expansion and how much was added to the gameplay, it's even less of a surprise that Blizzard today announced The Frozen Throne has sold over one million copies since it's July 1st release date making it the eighth Blizzard title to do so. And you wonder why they have such big budgets for their games...

"We are very excited about the worldwide demand for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne," stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder. "We put a lot of effort into giving players more of everything that Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos offered, in addition to a host of new features, and the expansion set's popularity tells us that our long hours and hard work have paid off."
