Konami and K-1 Ink Deal

Game publisher to get extensive exposure during fights.

Konami of America Inc. announced today that it has closed a deal with K-1 USA that will designate Konami as the exclusive North American videogame sponsor of the popular martial arts circuit.

What does being a sponsor get Konami? Exposure. Tons of exposure. Get ready to see Konami logos on the ring canvas, the fighter's gloves, countdown clocks, arena banners, and, best of all, the event's championship trophy. Additionally, the Konami logo will be found on all advertising for the event, which includes more than 75,000 posters that are to be distributed to martial arts schools around the country.

Along with event exposure, Konami will also get major television exposure as the K-1 pay-per-view events will be televised by DirecTV, iN DEMAND, Dish Network, and TVN. Popular sports network ESPN will also be airing six half-hour K-1 programs that will feature Konami billboards book-ending each telecast, as well as giving the publisher two 30-second advertising spots for its upcoming K-1 World Grand Prix game. Not too shabby, eh?
