Three Kinds of Generals

Do you like collecting stuff? Well then you must love collectible boxes! Do you always procrastinate when it comes to buying the latest and greatest games and then have to settle with the collector's editions when you can't find the normal packaging? Well then you'll have to buy one of these, love or not.

Electronic Arts says that there will be three limited edition collectable boxes for Command & Conquer Generals when it ships on the 11th of February. Each box will portray a different faction from the game (GLA, US, and China). And, as an added bonus, if you're a complete idiot and buy all three, you'll be able to set them side-by-side in your completely stupid home and see one big picture. Dan's totally buying all three.

An undisclosed number of copies will be printed for the initial release of the game, from there on in, only the crappy US box, seen here (it's rated "F" for "Funkotronic"), will be available. Pricing is reportedly the same and other features, including an Officer's Club Pack complete with exclusive "in-game elements and information," as well as unique medal icons, may or may not be exclusive to the collector's boxes, as the press release mentions such additions will simply be available to, "Players who pre-order Command & Conquer Generals from participating retailers."

Expect a full review prior to the game's launch. If you don't like waiting, let me sum it up by saying, "It's good."
