All-Star Baseball 2004 Features

Last year, Acclaim' brought the boys of summer to the next-gen consoles with some very solid results. Acclain Austin returns to the field in February of 2003 to bring All-Star Baseball 2003 to Xbox, PS2, GameCube, GBA, and PC. If you don't have at least one of those systems, then what the heck are you doing here? Shoo! ASB 2004 looks to bring back the same control scheme and play-style that served so well last year, but with a few fancy additions.

Negro League players
Console gamers have, until now, been deprived of some of the finest players in baseball history. Though many Negro League players never had the chance to play in the MLB, there were quite a few hall-of-famers in the bunch. With ASB 2004, you'll be able to put some of the Negro Leagues' finest on the field with big slugger Josh Gibson, sensational pitcher Satchel Paige, and story-teller extraordinaire Buck O'Neil among those available in the game.

New modes of play
Derek Jeter will return as cover boy and take a greater role in the game. The Yankee shortstop now hosts a variety of modes.

• Scenario Mode has Derek Jeter setting up in-game situations, offering recommendations on how to handle the tough challenge.
• Pick-up Game Mode lets you create a team of your favorite players and play a game in all new stadiums, including one reminiscent of the Field of Dreams.
• Stadium Tour gives you a panoramic tour of each stadium in the game, with Derek Jeter providing the color commentary. [Probably on GBA]
• Practice Mode gets new users familiar with the controls. And everyone's favorite shortstop (unless you prefer Miguel Tejada, or Nomar, or A-Rod, or someone not playing for the Yankees) provides the instruction.
• DVD features include live game footage of baseball stars at their best. [Again, likely not on GBA]

All-Star Baseball 2004 ships to all next-gen consoles, GBA, and PC February 2003. IGN will have more on the newest ASB in the coming months.
