Hot XXX

Activision will be bringing the new Vin Diesel movie to home consoles.

We don't know whether to be disappointed or relieved that XXX has nothing to do with porn, but in any case, Activision has enough faith in the upcoming Vin Diesel flick that the company went and secured the worldwide videogame rights.

Diesel plays Xander Cage (an instant classic among secret agent names), an extreme athlete who somehow ends up taking an assignment from the National Security Agency. How Cage is expected to succeed where other, professionally trained secret agents have failed will probably be explained somewhere in the movie.

Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios:

"Our game will let players experience the adrenaline rush of being an extreme athlete super agent. As the leader in action sports video games, "XXX" fits perfectly with our expertise and allows us to combine the tricks of an action sports game with the excitement and explosives of a spy thriller."

The words "extreme athlete" and "super agent" are always good buzz phrases when it comes to videogames and Activision would do well to give us the best of those two worlds. No developer nor any specific titles have been unveiled just yet, but Activision's deal with Revolution Studios, the folks behind the movie, includes all consoles, handhelds and the PC.

IGN will have more on XXX, the movie and games, not the porn, in the coming weeks.

Am I the only one who sees an If Looks Could Kill similarity?
