As part of its quarterly earnings report, Interplay Entertainment confirmed that Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance will be released for the Xbox sometime in 2002. Created by Snowblind and Black Isle Studios, BG: Dark Alliance was one of the more popular holiday titles for the PlayStation 2 in 2001 as an action game set in the universe of Dungeons and Dragons.
The confirmation of Dark Alliance was made by Interplay interim CEO Herve Caen as part of a statement about the company's potential revenue in 2002. The promising Hunter: The Reckoning and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance were cited as key Xbox products in Interplay's strategy to increase sales this year.
IGN will have more on Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance including screenshots, movies and impressions very soon.
