Publisher Acclaim Entertainment announced today that it will publish the third installment of its best-selling Dave Mirra franchise, called Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3, this fall for all next-generation systems including GameCube. The title is currently under development by California-based Z-Axis, the same group behind the first two offerings.
"The Dave Mirra brand is the number one BMX franchise in the world across all platforms and continues to set new industry benchmarks with each release," said Sarah Anderson, senior vice president of brand at Acclaim. "Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3 will take the BMX genre to new heights and strongly appeal to the rapidly expanding mass-market consumer audience."
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3 will sport 10 exclusive new expansive environments, all-new motion captured animations, 1,700 available tricks and combos, and an all-new create-a-rider feature in which players can customize both the rider and his or her BMX bike. The title will also boast an original soundtrack with contributions from today's leading music artists.
IGNcube will have more on the sequel in the coming months. Stay tuned.
