TGS 2001: Koei Announces Crimson Sea

Developer/publisher Koei's first title for Xbox is, surprisingly enough, not one of the war-strategy sims that made the company famous (Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition among them). Instead, it's a role-playing game, set in world reminiscent of the far East, entitled Crimson Sea. Though it gives something of a feel of the past, the game will actually feature a blend of science-fiction and fantasy themes -- the environment depicted in the first piece of concept art thus takes on a rather otherworldly cast.

Crimson Sea is Koei's only Xbox title so far, and it's due to arrive in 2002. More information as it comes to us.
