That old Midway library never gets old. Or does it? Midway doesn't seem to think so, and that's why it's returned with the series its fans constantly ask for: Rampage.

Rampage: Total Destruction delivers the exact same style of vertical, skyscraper destruction we've come to know and see regularly, and Midway has added a little here and there to make things interesting. Slated for the GameCube and PS2 for 2006, this old arcade classic enables up to four players to stomp simultaneously, unlocking as many as 36 new playable characters.

The game is 3D and slightly prettier, but it plays exactly the same as it ever did. Climb buildings, smash them to bits, eat people, throw objects such as cars across the landscape, crush helicopters, police cars, and anything else in your path. But watch which power-ups you collect. Some make you fat and happy, some make you puke. It's all in the day of a giant rampaging monster.

Along with new combo attacks and individual super moves, returning behemoths George, Lizzie, and Ralph can roam free in a distinctly new cityscape special in this version.

Nearly everything in the environment can be damaged, broken, or totally destroyed. Using power-ups, the Rampage: Total Destruction monsters can acquire upgrades throughout the course of a single campaign while annihilating cities all over the world. To sweeten the deal, the game sells for $19.99. Look for it in spring 2006 on GameCube and PS2 only.
