Make your own Kaiju and play mini games. Fun!

Despite the lack of Nintendo's presence, the Tokyo Game Show wasn't completely devoid of GameCube titles. Sega had a few on display, perhaps the most intriguing of which as Island of the Kaiju.

We first covered this game at its announcement a few weeks back, but here's a recap. In Island of the Kaiju, you attempt to raise a special Kaiju creature in order to protect the Island of the Kaiju from the evil Black Evil who attempts the heinous crime of controlling the island. You do this by raising the coolest Kaijuu ever.

The main focus of the game seems to be its Kaiju Editor, which allows you to quickly create a completely unique Kaijuu. The game starts by asking you a series of multiple-choice questions such as "What would you want in the background of a picture that you take with people you haven't seen for a long time?" and "What's the best part of going on a trip?". Based on your responses, you receive an initial Kaijuu which can be modified to your liking, by selecting pre-set parts and actually stepping in to fine tune things using a digital pen.

Once you've created your Kaiju, you interact with it. You can take it around the Island, taking pictures, and can join in a variety of mini-games, some of which resemble something out of Monkey Ball. You can also transfer your Kaijuu to your Game Boy Advance and link up with four other players to show your Kaiju off and to take part in four player games that offer up rare items.

If you're into the whole monster raisin thing, this could be the game for you. A Japanese release is planned for this Winter, with an American release as yet unannounced.
