As we creep closer to the release of the last in the "prequel" trilogy to Star Wars, so do the videogame versions of the incredibly popular film franchise. Last year, Ubisoft revealed that it would be converting the third film to the Game Boy Advance and DS in time for the film's theatrical release, and this week the company revealed the first details and screens of the GBA edition.

In the GBA version, you'll play as either Anakin or Obi-Wan in a branching level structure of side-scrolling action, each character having his own set of skills that can be upgraded in the course of battle. The game will feature link cable support for two player cooperative mode, as well as a "Last Jedi Standing" competition option. In cooperative mode, levels will take place between Episode II and III during the Clone War battles. In Last Jedi Standing, players are dropped in an arena filled with enemies, and the one Jedi standing at the end wins the match.

Both the Game Boy Advance and DS versions will be 2D affairs that follow the plot of the movie by the book. And since the game will ship to game stores two weeks before the film, you can get a head start on everyone else and know who actually becomes Darth Vader in the film! Really!
