BattleBots: Beyond the Battlebox [GBA]

Though we broke news about the project several months ago, Majesco today revealed that it will be releasing BattleBots: Beyond the BattleBox to the Game Boy Advance this Fall. In co-developed by Cave Barn (Urban Yeti) and Pipe Dream Interactive, BattleBots promises to offer the gritty metallic violence of the television show currently airing on Comedy Central.

BattleBots will feature sixteen different robots based on the actual destructive beasts on the television show. Players will be able to combine different weapons, chassis types and drive trains to creat more than a thousand different BattleBots possibilities. With their own BattleBot at their control, players will have to increase the bots' skills by winning battles in the arena. Victories are rewarded with cash, which can then be converted into upgrades for better weapons and special features.

The GBA game will feature several modes of play, including Head-to-Head Combat, where up to four BattleBots can duke it out simultaneously in the BattleBox (the official arena of BattleBot combat rigged with all the Kill Saws, Pulverizers, Ram Rods and more from the show). Or they can take it outside the ring in Beyond the BattleBox,, with four additional arenas each with its own unique hazards. If you need to get some practice in, players will be able to hit practice courses to learn how to steer and control Bots by hitting stationary and moving targets. Players will be able to buy and sell BattleBots, trading money and parts with other players over the Link Cable. And, yes, up to four players will be able to link up and battle it out with their machines.
