Reset Episode 12: Perfect Holiday Gifts

The Reset crew breaks down the best games of 2005 and gives you recommendations on what games are perfect as holiday gifts.

Synopsis

Attention last-minute shoppers, the Reset holiday guide is here! If you've been neglecting your gift giving duties -- like most of the hosts of Reset -- don't worry, because this episode gives you personal recommendation for the gamer in your life. Hosts Kat and Raymond are joined by Yahoo! Video Games editor-in-chief Rich Greenhill to give you their three personal game picks for the season. In between rounds Raymond and Ruby suggest other stocking stuffers from laptops to speakers and more!

Part One: The #3 Picks

There's a ton of variety in the gang's #3 picks. Raymond suggests a title that lets you sing your heart out, while Kat has something for all you would-be world conquerors out there. Rich has the distinction of selecting the only horse-assisted giant-climbing game the world has ever seen. To wrap it all up, Ruby shows off a gigantic laptop that's perfect for gaming, while Raymond pushes some diminutive ear buds that are perfect for your PSP.

Part Two: The #2 Picks

Raymond continues his musical theme by selecting the only game that has ever let him live out his fantasies of being Randy Rhodes and Brian May (sans the ridiculous hair). Kat picks an adorable game that successfully mixes two unlikely ingredients: Star Wars and LEGO. Rich makes sure that the handheld crowd is represented with one of the best games for the Nintendo DS. For the non-gaming gifts, Ruby shows you how to do Surround Sound without wires and Raymond tells you to read a book.

Part Three: The #1 Picks

This is it! Everyone's top suggestions for the years. Warmongers Rich and Kat suggest two outstanding first-person shooters that are quite different from each other. Raymond mixes the occult and mystery with some old-school adventure. To close out the show, Ruby shows you the best way to enjoy all your MP3s and Reset episodes in one device, while Raymond has something for PC gamers looking to get an edge on the competition.
