Guitar Hero 5

Platforms: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, PS2
Release Date: September 1
The music game that started it all is returning for another encore. New modes bring new life to your party, and over 80 new tracks will once again keep you rockin' 'til the sun comes up.
Why It's Hot:
It's the most party-friendly version yet. You'll now be able to drop in and drop out with any instrument at will, meaning you can set up a giant set list and let people join in, play a few songs, and bow out without disrupting the flow. Plus, it will support any combination of instruments, so if you want four guitarists (or, if you live in a castle, four drummers), fire the bassists and let there be six-stringed rock.
Why It's Not:
Dress it up however you want, but in the end, it's still just Guitar Hero. Little has changed to the basic formula in years now, and the modicum of tweaks might not warrant another full purchase.
Did You Know?
Fans of country music and jet black clothing, rejoice: the inimitable Johnny Cash will appear as a playable character.
