The Beatles: Rock Band

Platforms: Wii
Release Date: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii
Taking gamers on a magical mystery tour through the band's short, explosive career, The Beatles: Rock Band lets gamers play along to 45 of the famous foursome's greatest songs.
Why It's Hot:
Technically, it's more Fab than Hot, but why split hairs? As the first music game to include any Beatles material, this is clearly a big deal. It's also a big deal as an innovator, as it will be the first title in the genre to offer simultaneous three-part harmonies. And for the true mop-top maniac, a version of the game will come bundled with special plastic instruments modeled after the group's iconic gear (if you already own some Rock Band hardware, never fear -- there will be a standalone version, too).
Why It's Not:
At the cost of $250, that fancy bundled version would make even the Taxman blush. Also, if you can look past the harmony feature and the fact that it's The Beatles, there's not much new here. An overall lack of great new modes could make this something of a one (or 45) hit wonder.
Did You Know?
Paul, Ringo and the widows of fallen members John and George have been, uh, "instrumental" in the creation of the game, working alongside the developers to help pick the songs and venues.
