Tiger Tips

Struggling to measure up to Tiger Woods? Who isn't? Happily, we have a few tips that'll help tilt the putting green in your favor. Read on.

The Spin Zone

Having trouble seeing where the ball's going? Tiger's spin controls let you tweak your trajectory mid-air, but that's no use if the game's showing off one of its cinematic camera angles and you have no idea which way is up. The cure is easy: hit up the Options menu, and change the shot camera to "Follow." You don't quite get the same watching-live-on-ESPN feeling, but you'll improve your game.

Tune 'Em Up

Don't overlook the club tuner feature. If you're consistently hitting unintentional draws or fades, the game will let you configure your clubs to tune it out. If you're a real-life golfer, that's even better because you won't need to tweak your swing to compensate.

Easy Does It

Creating your own golfer is the most rewarding way to experience Tiger 10, but starting out as a rookie can be frustratingly difficult. Don't jump straight into the more advanced courses and tournaments; instead, head for the easy stuff like the Fedex Cup. Once you've got a little experience, a few stat boosts, and some cash under your belt, you'll find the mainstream tournaments a lot less hassle. Club upgrades are good bang for your novice bucks, too.

Stretch It Out

Love the realism of the Motionplus controls? Us too -- but it can come at a price. If you're taking a full golf-style swing, you're gonna be putting your muscles and joints through real golf-like stress, and although a Wiimote is much lighter than a driver you're still going to wind up sore if you don't take some precautions. This remarkably buff gentleman demonstrates some simple stretches that'll help stave off the aches and pains.
