Sonic Adventure (1998)
As Sega's Dreamcast stepped up in a valiant attempt to protect Sega's role in the gaming hardware market, likewise Sonic stepped up to provide a compelling platformer. Adventure introduced two key firsts to the series: it was the first to take place in a fully 3D world, aping the achievements of Mario 64 two years earlier, and it was the first to feature a full voice cast.
