Rock Band's First Downloadable Album Announced

Nevermind the Nevermind and tell Who's Next to take a number - next week, owners of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Rock Band will be able to bow at the altar of metal gods Judas Priest by downloading their seminal 1982 sonic assault, Screaming for Vengeance. This marks the first full album download for Harmonix and MTV Games' breakthrough music game.

Available for $1.99 per track or at the discounted rate of $14.99 for all ten, the Screaming for Vengeance album brings the total Rock Band track list to over 140. Over 8 million songs have been downloaded since the game shipped in November of 2007.

Harmonix and MTV Games also announced two future full album downloads. Released roughly a month after Screaming for Vengeance comes the 1978 self-titled debut from The Cars, followed a month or so later by The Pixies' alternative rock masterpiece, Doolittle.
