Prince Of Persia Tips And Tricks

Prince of Persia games have never been easy. In fact, the original 1989 game is considered by many to be one of the hardest games of its kind, and while the new Prince of Persia is mercifully easier than that, it's not a cakewalk. Sharpen your sword on these helpful tips.

Order the combo.

Unlike past games in the franchise, you don't fight very often in Prince of Persia. So make the most of combat by learning a few of the game's handy combo moves. In addition to saving you oodles of time (whacking an enemy over and over again with your sword will often not get the job done), combos look great and will make you feel like royalty. For best results, try mixing gauntlet throws with acrobatic moves, switching back and forth between the prince and Elika for maximum damage.

Feel the need for Seed.

After Elika has cleansed a Fertile Ground, light seeds appear scattered about the level. Even if you still have other areas to explore, take the time to collect as many right then and there while the moves and paths are still fresh in your memory. Keep in mind: some seeds can't be reached until you've unlocked all four magical travelling powers, so you won't be able to collect them all right away.

The quick and the dead.

Having trouble fighting the accursed corrupted minions? If you're fast enough, you won't have to. You should hear or see the corrupted forming on a platform a good four or five leaps ahead. Stop dilly-dallying and make a beeline straight for it. If you're fast enough, you can take it out with one sword swipe before it's turned from oily mess into weapon-toting bad guy.

The bigger they are, the harder they are to kill.

And by that, we of course are referring to the Warrior. Unlike the other bosses, you can't just whack away at the Warrior to knock down his health. If you're having a tough time getting him where you need him, try luring him closer to you while you inch toward the edge of the screen. Before he strikes, use the acrobat move to switch places with him, then strike.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Elika is more than just a badass magical princess -- she's also a treasure trove of useful information about the kingdom. If you're stuck on a puzzle, help is just a Left Trigger (or L1) away. And of course if you're ever turned around and not sure where to go, her absurdly useful compass will light the way. So use it!
