You might think your job comes with perks, but we're betting you don't have teaching aids anywhere near as cool as the Royal Navy.

Faced with the problem of keeping sailors up to speed on their math and physics classes while deployed far from home and in cramped surroundings, the Royal Navy has started issuing them Sony PSP consoles equipped with teaching and testing software.
Lieutenant-Commander Mark Williams, the program's developer, told The Times: "On most ships, the space people have is quite small. Many have bunks with just a couple of feet above. This is the sort of thing that can be used in a bunk space."
The PSPs proved popular with sailors in trials, The Times reports, and the Navy was also impressed with the system's reliability -- a Sony rep threw one at a wall to demonstrate its strength. Presumably, it survived. Navy brass was offered the console in either blue or pink; you'll be unsurprised to learn they decided blue was the better option.
But in what's perhaps the best news for Britain's servicemen and women, they're also free to play games on their PSPs -- according to the Times, the Navy expects them to take better care of them that way.
