November 24 5:48 P.M.
We've all been tempted to cut work to play new video games. And sure, if you work at Walmart, or a call center, or even Yahoo! Games, that might be par for the course.
But what if you're an honest-to-goodness, wig-and-all judge with 15 years experience working at a county court in Britain?
You might assume you'd be held to a somewhat higher standard, and up until this week we'd have assumed you'd be right. But that was until we read this tale from the London Times. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fan Justice "Will," (not his real name, naturally) stayed up so late playing his new game he had to call in sick the next morning -- going from wielding the long arm of the law to wielding akimbo nine-millimeters in what's nigh certain to be the year's best-selling shooter.
Talk about questionable judgement. So if you were due in British county court on November 11, and your case was unexpectedly postponed at the last minute, you might just have been a victim of the unknown slacker. We hope you filled your time as productively as he did.
