Songbird
Villain turned hero, Songbird transmutes her voice into a killing weapon. While somewhat unknown, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 players will quickly recognize her strengths when using her sonic abilities from afar, in the air and two inches from an enemy's face.
Spider-Man
Everybody's favorite webslinger is back, and this time, you have a choice which side he allies with. More than just web antics, Spider-Man's great acrobatics make him a strong close-quarters combatant, and when in need, he can wield other heroes like a mace using his web. Great power, indeed!
Storm
She's been called one of the most powerful mutants alive, and if you want to see what happens to a Toad when it's struck by lightning, you'd best not question that. Storm's weather-altering powers are unmatched in the game, allowing her to spew forth lightning and summon tornadoes at will. She also offers a wealth of fusion options, like the aforementioned Human Torch "fire tornado."
The Thing
It's pretty obvious that The Thing is best used to clobber anyone and everyone that gets in his way, but in the Civil War comic, he mostly stayed out of the way while lounging about in France. Not so in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, where you can take this orange, irresistible force and use it against equally immovable objects with glee. If The Thing isn't up front and smashing away, you're clearly playing him wrong.
Thor
We suppose it's pretty easy being the Norse god of thunder, what with the giant unbreakable hammer, lightning storms and immortality. In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, you get to taste that kind of power by bringing down the sky on anyone that crosses your path. Best yet, when allied with a partner like Deadpool, you can whip up a hurricane with your hammer and have him toss grenades into it. Incoming!
Venom
Clearly not one to sign on the dotted line of the Superhuman Registration Act, Venom is probably lurking around in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 because he heard there'd be a lot of death and destruction. Able to shapeshift into a variety of spiky weapons, Venom is strong, tough and uber-cool to look at. He'll also be sporting two different forms: the default Mac Gargan version, and an alternate Eddie Brock costume.
Wolverine
And last, but never least, is everyone's favorite Canadian: Wolverine. You should know the drill by now -- indestructible claws, rapid healing, super-tough adamantium skeleton, grumpy attitude, etc. When it comes to unstoppable killing machines, Wolverine is always numero uno. He also makes a great partner for fusion attacks, whether he's being thrown at enemies or using his blades to refract energy blasts. He's a must-have if you're going to survive, bub.
