Invisible Woman

Invisibility might not sound like the most potent of superpowers, but thankfully, the Invisible Woman can also create impenetrable force fields on command. Whether using her powers to thwart enemy advances or to lead a direct attack, Sue Storm comes ready to play both sides.
Iron Fist

Like the name implies, Iron Fist is all about in-your-face brawling. He can channel his energy into devastating attacks while taking a heavy beating in the process. As a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, his agility allows him a flurry of blows against opponents and a high-speed dash that can stop bad guys cold.
Iron Man

Who doesn't want to play as Iron Man? You've got repulsor laser attacks, iron fists (err, sorry Iron Fist), limited flight and incredible strength. Plus, you're one of the most famous superheroes of recent note, so nab him before your friends do.
Jean Grey "Phoenix"

Rocking her Phoenix uniform, this telekinetic member of the X-Men is more than just a pretty face. Whether she's knocking down a battalion of soldiers with an area attack or focusing her telekinetic abilities on one tough boss, Phoenix is a great range fighter for the group. And yes, the Phoenix Force is ever present, so boost her abilities and reap the rewards!
Juggernaut (*pre-order exclusive*)

If you want to play as the unstoppable Juggernaut, you'll have to place your order now. Yep -- only those wry enough to pre-order from an eligible retailer will secure this free playable character on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. If you can live without causing earthquakes, then you can skip the sense of urgency.
Luke Cage

As an anti-registration supporter, Luke Cage brings his enhanced strength and durability to Captain America's side of "justice." Like other strong heroes, Cage can pull concrete chunks from the ground and hurl them about or toss characters at enemies for higher damage with a Fastball Special. If you have an affinity for heroes for hire, Power Man is your man.
Mr. Fantastic

Brilliant, elastic and a natural born leader, Reed Richards' Mr. Fantastic has his mind set on enforcing the Superhuman Registration Act, even if it means tearing apart his family in the process. Fans of the Fantastic Four will love using his crazy, stretchy moves to mow down foes.
Ms. Marvel

With their ability to see into the future, precogs are a welcome addition to any supergroup. Ms. Marvel has limits to her "seventh" sense, but she makes up for it in her superhuman strength and ability to fly. She's also one of the few characters that can use ranged attacks to hit enemies from afar, and then move in quickly and finish them off her exceptional speed.
Penance

Love him or hate 'em, the Civil War whipping boy Penance is ready to assist you when Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 arrives. Outside of the melodrama surrounding his storyline, Penance has some pretty sweet powers, including energy blasts, energy fields and -- wait for it -- energy punches. All of this makes him a solid utility player, even if it causes him a little pain each time you do a super-powered move.
