Silkroad Online At The Game & Gameworld Championship
For the third year running, Joymax's hit online game is the centerpiece of the prestigious gaming event.
Joymax, an independent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment, today announced that the Silkroad Online portion of Game & Game World Championship 2008 (GNGWC 2008) will begin preliminary rounds in North America on September 20th at the L.A. PC Cafe.
Silkroad Online is an official choice for the GNGWC 2008 for the third year running. A historical fantasy MMORPG, Silkroad Online has dramatically expanded its user base since launching in 2005, successfully engaging over 100,000 concurrent players through a series of 'Legend' expansions. These innovative add-ons to the original free-to-play title include:
Legend I: Europe Expansion (July 2007):
Provided Silkroad Online with a new starting city, Constantinople. Players also received 24 additional character types to choose from, as well as a character progression system that was more traditionally structured than the free-form, hybrid progression of the Chinese race.
Legend II: Fortress Wars (December 2007):
Engaged full guilds in battle, allowing up to 300 players to face-off in biweekly siege warfare.
Legend III: Roc Mountain (May 2008):
Increased the level cap to 90 and added a precipitous new area teeming with high-level monsters, never-before-seen ninth-degree items, and brand-new quests.
GNGWC is sponsored by the Korea Software Industry Promotion Agency (KIPA) and KT, an internet service provider. More information about GNGWC 2008 is available at www.gamengame.com.
