The Godfather II

Become a family man again in this Sicilian sequel. Set against the backdrop of the Cuban revolution, the game loosely follows the film by letting players manage the Corleone clan and take on other families in a massive, open city.
Why It's Hot:
The first Godfather game was a hoot, bucking the trend of bad games based on movies thanks to its riotous gameplay. This one takes it to a whole new level by mixing the franchise's brutal run-and-gun action with a more thoughtful, strategic element in The Don's View, which lets you coordinate hits and plan swindles from on-high. A good Godfather is an untouchable Godfather, after all.
Why It's Not:
Having Robert Duvall on board as consigliore Tom Hagen is fine and dandy, but how about Pacino as Michael Corleone? No such luck. And while the game revolves around the Corleone family's dealings in Cuba, it doesn't include any of the film's flashback material that earned De Niro his first Oscar. It's also been rumored that Francis Ford Coppola is totally uninvolved in the project, severing this tough guy's ties to the motherland.
